GS Agri Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting for dairy farm workers for farms in South west Cork, Ireland, this is a great opportunity with career progression in an industry which is thriving and expanding rapidly.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on the best dairy farms in Ireland. Herd size’s range from 120-450 and milking parlor’s having the capacity to milk 10-30 cows at any one time.
The role requires the candidate to be competent, keen, and trustworthy and has the initiative to carry out work on the farm. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the daily milking routine and other general tasks on the farm; feeding the herd, machinery driving, grassland management etc.
The successful candidate will be trained to the highest standard for a period of 8 weeks by “Teagasc” and will attend a training day in the “Teagasc” Clonakilty farm facility every two weeks in Co.Cork. The candidate will be supervised by the host farmer on a daily basis throughout the training duration. When each candidate has completed the training they will be awarded with a “QQI Level 6 certification”. The cost of the training is €1100 per person and will be founded by GS Agri Recruitment. Each chosen candidate will be issued a 6 month fixed term contract by GS Agri Recruitment Ltd and during the six month term GS Agri will administer all paid salaries and taxes and all other pay related issues. After the six month term is completed and training is successful a permanent contract will be offered to an educated and skilled candidate who knows the day to day running of his farm.
Accommodation will be provided by the client or GS and will either be on site or off site (full details of accommodation will be confirmed Jan 2018. A successful candidate will not have to seek accommodation and any accommodation provided by our client will be inspected by GS to confirm it is of an acceptable standard.
Any candidate who wishes to take this position would need to have a good level of English both spoken and writing (understanding). All applicants should have either experience in agriculture, physical work experience or come from an agriculture background and be comfortable around animals. License B for driving machinery is a big bonus but not all clients seek employee to operate machinery.
Candidates will be paid the national training wage of €8.33 per hour for the first 8 weeks (training period). On the completion of his/her training the candidate will earn €9.55 per hour. At least 39 hours per week are guaranteed.
After 6 months the candidate will be fully skilled and trained, meaning he/she will be worth more to the farmer and their pay is negotiable. The candidate will be a great asset to the farmer and the farmer will want to keep him/her as an employee.
A Sunday premium will be paid.
